Job description

ALTEN Mexico is a subsidiary of ALTEN Group. ALTEN group has been a leader in engineering and information technology for more than 30 years and operates in 30 countries across Europe, North America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East and employs more than 46,000 people, 88% of whom are engineers.

A web-based business reporting portal that centralizes complex data into a clean, intuitive interface, and a mobile sports betting app (iOS/Android) that consolidates multiple providers into a seamless user experience. Design must prioritize usability, accessibility (WCAG compliance), and responsive adaptability for web, while adhering to iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design standards for mobile.

The core challenge is to simplify complex data flows (portal) and enable fast, intuitive interactions for betting users, while maintaining visual consistency across both platforms. Collaboration with technical teams under Agile methodologies is required, using Figma for design systems, interactive prototyping, and technical documentation.

Mandatory requirement: Proven experience in sports betting products and advanced expertise in managing components and variants in Figma.

We are looking for a UX/UI Designer:

General activities:

1. Research & Analysis

  • Conduct user research (interviews, surveys, competitor analysis) to understand user needs in sports betting and business reporting contexts.
  • Execute usability testing (using tools like Maze or Lookback) and synthesize findings.
  • Define user personas and journey maps for both web and mobile products.

2. Conceptual Design

  • Create wireframes and user flows to validate information architecture.
  • Develop low- and high-fidelity interactive prototypes in Figma.
  • Prioritize simplicity and scalability in designs for data-heavy platforms.

3. Visual Design & Design Systems

  • Design high-fidelity UI for web (reporting portal) and mobile (betting app), adhering to:
    • WCAG accessibility standards
    • iOS Human Interface Guidelines
    • Material Design principles
  • Build and maintain a scalable design system in Figma (reusable components, variants, auto-layouts).
  • Ensure visual consistency across platforms (color, typography, iconography).

4. Technical Collaboration

  • Work closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation (handoff via Zeplin/Storybook).
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, refinements) using tools like JIRA and Notion.
  • Adapt designs based on technical constraints and business feedback.

5. Iteration & Optimization

  • Analyze usage metrics (heatmaps, analytics) to inform design improvements.
  • Propose A/B tests for key components (e.g., betting buttons, data filters).
  • Iterate designs based on stakeholder and user feedback.

6. Sports Betting-Specific Tasks

  • Design key user flows: registration, deposits, live betting, balance management.
  • Optimize microinteractions (notifications, animations) to boost user engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations (e.g., responsible gambling messaging).

7. Documentation

  • Create usage guidelines for internal teams and clients.
  • Maintain updated design tokens and libraries in Figma/Zeroheight.

Requirements

  • Preferred Engineering Degrees: Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or other, Engineering fields related to IT, Electronic or Electrical Engineering with a focus on computing
