CONTRIBUTING TO THE CMPA

Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) provides secure, reliable, and integrated technology infrastructure and delivers excellent user support in support of and in alignment with the Canadian Medical Protective Association’s strategic vision.  This is supported by leadership in planning for the effective and strategic use of emerging technologies. Furthermore, I&O strives to demonstrate technical and operational excellence through a commitment to professionalism and continuous improvement.  

 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Lead, End User Support & Innovation, the student will be working with the Business Analyst to support the M365 Technology Stack and evaluating features. The incumbent is responsible for assessing new and existing features within the Microsoft 365 suite to ensure they meet business needs, align with business goals, delivers value and maintain high standards of usability, performance, and security. The student will also contribute to documentation, testing, hub content and knowledge-sharing efforts. 

 

 

POSITION ACTIVITIES

 

  • Assess the functionality, usability, and performance of new and existing Microsoft 365 features (including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Office, and Power Platform).
  • Stays updated on industry trends and competitor offerings while taking into consideration Microsoft 365 E5 features in our tenant; identify feature duplication within the tenant and recommend consolidation or optimization strategies. 
  • Proposes enhancements, workflows, and usage scenarios that leverage Microsoft 365 capabilities for improved productivity and collaboration. 
  • Collaborates with end users to collect feedback and usage data; assess adoption challenges and translate insights into actionable recommendations. 
  • Monitors and report on the performance of Microsoft 365 features, including usage statistics and user satisfaction scores.
  • Conducts thorough testing of new Microsoft 365 features and updates to evaluate and address usability concerns.
  • Maintains detailed and user-friendly documentation, including test plans, evaluation reports, adoption guides, and feature overviews. 
  • Works closely with the product owner, and multiple teams to communicate findings and recommend opportunities. Ensure evaluated features align with organizational goals and governance standards. 
  • Contributes to the development and governance of the departmental Hub Site ensuring content relevance, structure, and usability. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Enrolled in post-secondary education with a focus on Information Technology
  • Experience working in a professional organization is considered an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 tools (Office & Integration) and applications
  • Experience in research, software evaluation, testing, or a related field

POSTING DETAILS

  • Job type: This is a temporary, full-time position from September 2025 to December 2025
  • Salary range: Between $19.75-$25.50/hourly
  • Location: Fully Remote Job, working from a home-based office anywhere in the provinces of Ontario and Québec.
  • Students are defined as individuals who are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution during the year that they are employed. To be considered for a position, candidates must be enrolled in an academic program with a co-op term from September to December 2025.
