Telecommunications Engineer

As a Telecom Engineer, you will assist the installation and commissioning of telecom systems for assignments of low complexity. You will ensure the efficient and cost-effective completion of all commissioning activities in line with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. You will be responsible for the commissioning of countywide network which needs extensive travelling all-over Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle Telecom SDH/MPLS multiplexers, wireless routers, switches, routers, PABX systems, and network management products.
• Work with PDH, SDH, Ethernet, and MPLS-TP technologies, understanding client needs and proposing solutions.
• Advise clients on system maintenance and upgrades, and provide training on new products.
• Represent commissioning at project meetings, implement design changes, and produce project documentation.
• Support project process and product design improvements by providing feedback.
• Assist Project Managers with claims, create work plans and cost estimates, and manage work to meet quality, time, and cost targets.
  

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electronics, communication or telecommunication engineering.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in telecommunications with hands-on experience with relevant products.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English.

Length of Contract:

The project is expected to span three to four years, starting from mid-2025.
