Title Examiner (Remote in NY or NJ)

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Title Examiner to join our growing team. This is a fully remote position, but candidates must be located in New York or New Jersey due to jurisdictional requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in examining residential and/or commercial real estate titles, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities:

• Examine public records, maps, and documents to verify the legal status of property titles.

• Identify potential title issues such as liens, encumbrances, easements, or boundary disputes.

• Prepare comprehensive title commitments, reports, and documentation in compliance with company and state guidelines.

• Collaborate with underwriters, attorneys, and closing agents to resolve title defects or discrepancies.

• Maintain accurate records of all examined documents and findings.

• Stay current with local title laws and industry regulations in NY and NJ.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Title Examiner in NY and/or NJ.

• Strong knowledge of title standards, legal descriptions, and real estate terminology.

• Familiarity with title software such as SoftPro, RamQuest, or ResWare preferred.

• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a remote setting.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or certification in title or real estate law a plus.
