Description
Job Purpose:
As a Director of Events, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating all types of events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale seminars, ensuring they are executed seamlessly and leave a lasting impression on current and future clients. You ensure that they are efficiently executed and in alignment with the firm’s overall strategic efforts, and that client service is exceptional.
As Director of Events at Anderson, you'll lead a dedicated team while collaborating closely with Business Development and Marketing teams to cultivate and strengthen client and prospect relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Craft an event strategy to reach new customer segments, drawing insights from market research for growth opportunities.
- Develop an annual event calendar with input from commercial stakeholders, aligning key events with business objectives.
- Collaborate with on-site sales teams during events to foster an environment that drives direct attendee engagement and sales.
- Maintain updated event calendars and share information with the marketing team to ensure coherence with overall strategies.
- Efficiently manage resources, including budgets, personnel, and equipment, to ensure quality educational events without overspending.
- Oversee live events as a key contact for speakers and attendees, ensuring flawless execution.
- Integrate event activities into broader marketing and business development initiatives, fostering synergy.
- Coordinate logistics for both in-person and virtual events
- Establish and nurture relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts, and resolving conflicts
- Work with the marketing team to ensure the timely delivery of event collateral.
- Handle event materials preparation and manage webinars using platforms like Zoom.
- Provide on-site support during events and conduct post-event activities for evaluation and future planning.
- Adapt to unexpected challenges and last-minute changes, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and attendees throughout the event planning and execution process.
- Balance extensive travel commitments (up to 50%) with other responsibilities

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 7 years of event management experience in a similar role.
- Flexibility to travel extensively within the USA (up to 50%) and manage in-person events up to 3 weekends per month
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions and navigate complex situations with confidence.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to anticipate needs and provide proactive support to internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in legal, estate planning, and tax advisory services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required; experience with webinar technology (Zoom), internet research, and CRM programs (Salesforce)
- High energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude, with a commitment to delivering exceptional results and representing the firm professionally at all times.
- Compelling experience in developing a high-performing team of event specialists
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
