SUMMARY: The Pharmacist (P) oversees the pharmacy operations of their assigned pharmacy within Gracelight Community Health to ensure that patients receive quality, timely, pharmacy services in accordance with Gracelight's mission and values. In addition, the (P) will ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including those pertaining to Section 340(b) drug pricing for their assigned pharmacy. This includes coordinating with other departments of Gracelight Community Health to provide patients with a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH). The P, under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, will direct the non-licensed pharmacist staff assigned to their assigned pharmacy, monitor the pharmacy budget; manage the pharmacy inventory within the approved formulary; and lead/educate/train the pharmacy staff regarding issues relevant to pharmacy services and operations for their assigned pharmacy. The (P) will work with their assigned Health Center Manager and providers to address that health centers’ specific pharmacy-related needs. Leads the Pharmacy Department, instilling confidence, knowledge, and professionalism, while helping others achieve their best.

b. Develops priorities, assigns work and establishes work schedules to ensure efficient operations and staffing at their assigned pharmacy.
c. Oversees pharmaceuticals purchasing, inventory management, dispensing, storage, and record keeping systems, in compliance with California Pharmacy laws and regulations for their assigned pharmacy.
d. Ensures accurate billing of medications dispensed to insured patients, according to Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) contracts.
e. Implements quality assurance activities related to their assigned pharmacy including tracking patient safety issues and recommending processes to improve systems and patient care.
f. Troubleshoots problems when they arise, exercising good judgment in finding and implementing solutions.
10. Compliance: Ensures regulatory compliance with State and Federal agencies related to pharmacies including, but not limited to the following:
a. CA Board of Pharmacy
b. Drug Enforcement Administration
c. 340B Drug Pricing Program
d. Ensures compliance with all Gracelight Community Health policies and procedures.
11. Communication:
a. Effectively communicates with customers/patients while maintaining the privacy of health and drug information.
b. Communicates professionally and effectively with colleagues at all levels in the organization.
c. Participates in Gracelight Community Health committees as relevant to pharmacy services.
d. Informs direct reports of organizational issues affecting the Pharmacy Department consistently and timely.
e. Establishes/maintains contacts and relationships with outside organizations and vendors, as appropriate.
