About the role:

Position is responsible for the successful Engineering of New Products. Hands-on role responsible for the Electrical Engineering with a focus on original embedded Software code.  Projects typically include vehicle control systems, IoT connectivity, and autonomous controls integration. Non-software related responsibilities may include, development of electrical schematics, CAN Network design, selection of electrical components. Objective is for the development of the vehicle Electrical System, Subsystems and Components to meet project targets for Quality, Cost & Timing. This is a hands-on design and release Engineer position.

What you will do:

  • Design and release of Electrical Systems, software, in-line with project plan.
  • Identify and recommend options for engineering solutions, improving quality, reducing cost, improving time to market.
  • Plan, schedule and implement project tasks within targeted cost, quality and timing deadlines.
  • Lead and support building and testing of prototypes.
  • Organizes and analyzes test and design analysis data.
  • Ensures cross functional engagement and requirements with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing-DFM, Service-DFS.
  • Works with suppliers to communicate requirements and apply latest technology.

When & Where:

8-5 hybrid Travel 10% of the time

 

Qualifications

What you need to have:

  • BSEE 4+ years relevant experience (material handling, Automotive, Off-highway, or similar).
  • Demonstrable experience producing/configuring application code for new products and new features.
  • Working knowledge of common embedded programming languages (Python, C++, Script, etc.).
  • Working knowledge/experience with methodical, structured problem solving (8D, 5 Why's, Fishbone, etc.)
  • Knows basic electrical instruments like multimeter, oscilloscope, CAN simulation and testing tools such as Vector CANalyzer/ PEAK CAN etc.
  • Able to read & create electrical schematics, and troubleshoot electrical circuits.
  • Proficiency in C programming and solid knowledge in data structures
  • Experience with embedded software development process and software repository and version control tools such as GitHub

What would be nice to have:

  • Systems Engineering (Electrical) design, creating project timelines and requirements experience.
  • Hands-on experience with design, testing and troubleshooting of  electric motor, controller design concepts and other electrical systems
  • Proficiency in C programming and solid knowledge in data structures and embedded software development process
  • Solid knowledge in vehicle communication protocols such as CAN (ISO 11898-1&2), CANOpen and J1939 (Full protocol stack).
  • Knowledge of safety standards such as UL 558 and 583 and ISO.
  • Basic knowledge of how internal combustion and electric vehicles work (engines, transmissions, user interfaces, batteries, chargers, etc.).

The pay for this position ranges from $94,129 to $126,665 annually. The specific salary for a successful candidate will depend upon, among other legitimate factors, education, training, and/or experience.
