Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design and/or modify reusable components (such as the audio player) for Radio-Canada’s digital platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and monitor product quality throughout the project.
  • Keep up with the latest trends in the various digital development fields.
  • Propose technical solutions that meet functional needs and help validate them with the team.
  • Participate in Agile Scrum activities in order to review progress on projects in production and make the necessary corrections/adjustments, or to gauge the results of completed projects.
  • Ensure that internally developed applications perform well and can meet high demand.
  • Help review and deploy code for the solution.
  • Work closely with product, UX/UI and QA team members within an agile framework.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions and the continuous improvement of development practices.

What You Bring

  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years’ experience in software development.
  • Experience developing complex, high-performance apps.
  • Proficiency with Android Studio, Git and Kotlin.
  • Familiarity with SOLID architecture principles.
  • Knowledge of design patterns.
  • An app published on Google Play.
  • Experience working with pull requests.
  • Knowledge of programming patterns (such as MVP or MVVM).
  • Ability to read, produce and follow software architecture diagrams (UML, sequences diagrams, etc.).
  • Interest in working on an app available across multiple form factors (mobile, tablet, Android Auto).
  • Good general knowledge and high degree of curiosity (acquiring and developing new skills and knowledge).
  • Critical mind (you challenge the status quo and voice new ideas).
  • Keen interest in major digital trends and issues.
  • Diligence, independence and resourcefulness.
  • Excellent stress management and prioritization skills.
  • Analytical and conceptual mind.
  • Flexibility, initiative and drive.
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
  • Solid command of French.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Jetpack Compose, ExoPlayer and Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Knowledge of the Dagger, Hilt and Koin libraries.
  • Knowledge of audio and video streaming.
  • Knowledge of Google architecture components.
  • Knowledge of Maven (including the design/maintenance of internal libraries).
  • Knowledge of other programming languages.
  • Experience with Android Automotive ecosystem.
