About the Role

What’s the mission you’ll drive

Build infrastructure for financial risk management by designing and implementing frameworks and processes to identify, measure, monitor, and manage market, liquidity, and interest rate risks, ensuring regulatory readiness, informed decision-making, and a disciplined approach to managing financial risks.

What you will do
  1. Design and implement the bank’s initial market risk and interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB) measurement framework and deliver analysis and recommendations to inform ALCO decisions

  2. Create and operationalize a comprehensive monitoring framework and an alerts system based on the bank's risk appetite framework to ensure timely and accurate decisioning.

  3. Ensure the timely preparation of both internal and external reports regarding financial risks.

  4. Develop and deliver all documentation and tools required for regulatory compliance during regulatory approval process and during normal course of business after launch.

What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience building Risk Policies & Frameworks:

    • 4+ years in financial risk, treasury, ALM, or balance sheet management roles within banking or financial institutions.

    • Experience building or significantly evolving risk frameworks and tools in a regulated entity.

    • Skilled at building governance documents and controls from scratch (policies, manuals, risk appetite statements, etc.).

    • Direct exposure to regulatory reviews or inspections by financial regulators.

    • Hands-on experience implementing stress testing frameworks and measuring all relevant financial risk management metrics, including VaR, IRL, CFEN, Delta EVE and Delta NII .

  • Demonstrates a profound Financial risk understanding of market risk, liquidity risk, and banking book interest rate risk (IRRBB)

    • Ability to understand complex financial instruments and balance sheet exposures, applying appropriate risk measurement techniques (e.g., VaR, duration, gap analysis, stress testing).

    • Exhibits a forward-looking approach to identifying potential financial risks and developing effective, practical mitigation strategies before they significantly impact the business.

    • Proficiency in modeling and quantifying risk exposures using tools like gap analysis, stress testing, VaR, and liquidity metrics (IRL, CFEN).

  • Possesses strong Quantitative & Analytical Acumen

    • Ability to design and implement stress scenarios that account for macro, market, and company-specific risk factors.

    • Have solid financial modeling, statistical analysis, and data interpretation skills.

    • Makes decisions that balance growth and resilience in the face of incomplete information and emerging risks.

    • Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, and quantitative tools (e.g., Python, R, Power BI).

  • Regulatory Proficiency and Knowledge (Colombian Fintech/CF Context):

    • Strong grasp of Colombian financial regulations (e.g., Circular Básica Contable y Financiera from Superfinanciera), and international frameworks (Basel III, among others).

    • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Colombian financial regulations pertaining to market, liquidity, and interest rate risk for Establecimientos de Crédito.

    • Will ensure all risk frameworks, policies, and reports align with local regulatory requirements and anticipate changes in the regulatory landscape.

  • Outstanding Clear Communication & Reporting skills:

    • Articulates complex risk concepts, analyses, and recommendations clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences including senior leadership and technical teams.

    • Has prepared and presented comprehensive risk reports, explaining model outputs effectively, and contributing constructively to risk governance decisions

  • Step 3: Technical assessment (30 min)
    A session to assess your skills using SQL, one of our team members will ask you to solve different exercises using your SQL experience

  • Step 4: Deep Dive Interview (30 min)
    You'll meet future colleagues and cross-functional team members to get a feel for how we work together. We’re looking for strong contributors and cultural fits, so bring your questions, too!

  • Step 5: Case Study (3-5 Days)
    You may receive a real-world challenge or case study to complete. This is a chance to showcase your expertise and how you approach key problems relevant to the role.

  • Step 6: Co-Founder Interview
    If there’s a strong match, you’ll have a final conversation with our Founder to align on expectations, cultural fit and ensure mutual excitement. From there, we’ll move quickly to an offer and discuss next steps.
