As a Quality Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test strategies to ensure high-quality software delivery. You will work on improving automation frameworks, implementing robust API testing, and identifying gaps in test execution strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of QA methodologies, automation tools, and end-to-end testing processes. •  Test Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, ensuring efficient test coverage across UI, API, and backend systems. Write and execute test cases.
•  Automation Development: Design, implement, and enhance automated test frameworks. Develop and maintain robust automation scripts, including front end UI, API and backend test automation.
•  Impact Analysis & Test Planning: Perform impact analysis on new changes, ensuring proper test coverage and risk assessment. Contribute to defining and executing end-to-end test strategies.
•  Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Identify gaps in test execution and propose data-driven solutions to enhance automation efficiency and coverage.
•  Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with development, product, and QA teams to ensure seamless test execution. Report and troubleshoot defects, providing detailed root cause analysis and recommendations.
•  Quality Advocacy: Advocate for best QA practices, drive test automation adoption, and contribute to continuous process improvements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested. Consensus reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

What you will bring to the table…

• 7+ years experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• 4+ years hands-on Test Automation experience.
• Hands-on experience with API automation testing and tools like Postman, NodeJS, JavaScript, or similar.
• Experience in developing and maintaining automation scripts 
• Hands-on experience with AWS applications such as S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch. 
• Familiarity with test case management tools like TestRail or similar. 
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automation tests into Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Solid understanding of QA concepts, methodologies, and automation frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve testing gaps proactively.
• Ability to conduct impact analysis and build end-to-end test strategies.
• Experience in agile environments and working closely with cross-functional teams.

You will stand out if you also have…

• Strong experience in developing and maintaining automation scripts using JavaScript, Java,  Python using Playwrite, Selenium and NodeJS automation frameworks.
• Strong experience in load testing using JMeter, should be hands on writing load test scripts.
• Experience working in an Agile environment and working closely with cross functional teams. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience preferred. 
• Active, transferable U.S Security Clearance at the Public Trust level or higher preferred 

Additional details…

• Location requirements: Fully remote within the U.S. (Los Angeles or Las Vegas preferred.)
• Travel requirements: Up to 10% travel.
• Physical requirements: Must be able to sit for long periods, as well as, handle long periods of screen time.
• Technology requirements: Reliable, high speed internet
• Eligible for sponsorship: No 
• Security clearance:  Ability to achieve and maintain a security clearance with the U.S Government is required 

The salary range for this role is $90,000- $100,000 USD annually. The total compensation package for this position is negotiable and may also include annual performance bonus, ESPP, enhanced time off packages and benefits. This job doesn't have an expiration date and will remain open until a qualified candidate is hired.
