VetRad is comprised of almost 30 board-certified radiologists with extensive clinical experience, a number of secondary readers, and 10 support team members. Our radiologists serve more than 500 veterinary hospitals, emergency clinics, and referral centers across the United States, from California to Maine to Florida.
VetRad is searching for an outstanding General Manager. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, collaborating directly with the Medical Director (veterinarian medical leader) of VetRad. VetRad is in a highly competitive environment that requires a growth minded leader that will be required to develop a growth plan, ensure quality and consider technology advancement in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The General Manager will also have P&L responsibility and provide senior level operational and strategic leadership for the Teleradiology business.
Fostering and maintaining customer relations and developing mutually beneficial strategic grown plan and operation improvement to support customer and internal value drivers will be critical. Ensuring VetRad works frictionless with Medvet and other customers while leading growth plans equals succeeding in a complex work environment.

The General Manager will have a broad set of objectives and responsibilities including the following:
- Develop, plan and execute a multi-year strategic plan
- At a senior level, develop, plan and execute a growth plan for VetRad by developing and implementing strategic business plans to provide for long-term and short-term business growth
- Provide innovation and efficiency to ensure VetRad meets current and emerging trends, internal and external competitive pressures, and provides senior level operational direction.
- Evaluating the existing and, where applicable, designing and implementing a Teleradiology workflow that supports a 24/7/365 Teleradiology program
- Accountable for VetRad financial performance (P&L)
- Providing senior leadership; Clients and team members with management level reporting, including weekly and monthly financial projections based on the most up to date results to ensure the financial objectives of the company are met and, monthly and quarterly quality outcomes reporting
- Prepares monthly and quarterly reports to be presented at Results Management Meetings
- Establish VetRad as an employer of choice and, working with the Medical Recruiting team, to provide leadership in hiring a high functioning team of doctors
- Work collaboratively with the hospital leadership to operationalize the plan to achieve successful VetRad teleradiology support and advancement
- Build a well-disciplined team and operating environment resulting in a highly efficient Referral Partner (client) focused model; ultimately driving the highest levels of Referral Partner satisfaction
- Plan and direct VetRad’s activities to achieve stated/agreed targets and standards for quality, financial, technology and operational performance
- Serve as an ambassador for VetRad’s culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all team members, Referral Partners, and suppliers
- Work closely with the medical leadership to determine the best technology, including AI strategy providing a path forward and appropriate implementation of action plans.
- Provide leadership through an entrepreneurial, visionary approach that promotes best practices, market-driven analytics and customer focus
- Work closely with the medical leader to fully understand (referral partners) and their current and future needs; possess the executive presence for successful customer and leadership interaction
- Take true ownership of all aspects of the business, work diligently to ensure goals and objectives are defined, communicate, met and exceeded
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Our ideal candidate has 15+ years of experience, including leadership roles of increasing scope, ideally in imaging and/or teleradiology services. Experience in the veterinary profession or human healthcare is a preferred. Additionally, this position requires:
- A history of delivering results, the ability to formulate strategies, strong communication skills and a proven record of execution against sales and strategic objectives
- Excellent communication skills, and a leader who is collaborative, motivated, self-starter and has strong experience as a leader/general manager
- The ability to influence decisions within the organization and drive change
- An open mindset, and the ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and teams
- Experience in healthcare information technology space and a general knowledge of the industry’s technological state and near and long-term advancements
- Good working knowledge of systems that function across multiple institutions at multiple sites, and ideally experience with remote physicians across multiple states
- A strong understanding of the trends and innovations within the healthcare marketplace. In addition, he/she will possess knowledge and experience in the virtual healthcare space
Specific Experience Should Include
- General management and full P&L responsibility running a complex business
- Management experience with a record of meeting objectives, timelines and delivering bottom line results
- A clear track record of success as a leader, managing a full range of human, financial and resources needed to achieve objectives and goals

- Expertise in a healthcare technology product dominated organization
- A commitment to teamwork, team building, providing partnerships and involvement in decision-making; excellent coach and developer of people
- Experience in developing strategic growth plans
- Experience in developing Technology roadmap in an imaging or teleradiology service
- Management direct or indirectly the marketing and sales approach of teleradiology services.
