We are seeking a proactive and experienced Development Manager to lead and manage the full site and building development lifecycle for national retail and commercial clients. This fully remote role requires frequent collaboration with internal teams, clients, public agencies, and consultants, and includes travel up to 50% of the time.

The Development Manager will operate as a trusted advisor, proactively shaping development strategies, identifying and mitigate risks, and ensuring alignment between project execution and the client's broader business objectives. This includes advocating for clients during entitlement and permitting negotiations, optimizing deal structures, and driving efficiencies in multi-site rollout programs. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of tactical execution and strategic foresight, capable of translating client goals into actionable development plans while managing complex stakeholder environments. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-directed professional with strong real estate and development experience who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Location: We are open to hiring for remote work from any location in the US.

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or related degree 
  • Professional experience coordinating commercial real estate development projects, project management, or related field. Experience with multi-site national retail or restaurant programs strongly preferred
  • Experience testifying before planning commissions, zoning boards, or similar public hearings
  • Experience working on retail, restaurant, or petroleum site development
  • Commercial real estate brokerage experience
  • Familiarity with Build to Suit and Reverse Build to Suit models
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, and project tracking tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Lucernex, Accruent)
