Position Summary

The role of the Referral & Prior Authorization Nurse reports to the Clinic Manager. This position is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing referrals and obtaining prior authorizations for medications and procedures/tests.

Essential Position Responsibilities

Obtain prior authorizations for medications and procedures/tests.
Process and coordinate incoming and outgoing referrals.
Coordinate patient record to ensure all necessary information is received from internal and external clients.
Responsible for coordinating and administering vaccines and other clinic-administered injectable medications.
Assist with nurse triage of patient calls/nursing tasks.
Assist with scanning, faxing, scheduling appointments, and distributing clinic correspondence.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Licensure and Certifications: RN or LPN license
Experience: Prefer medical clinic experience and experience processing and administering medications and prescriptions.

Work Environment: This position will spend 20% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling lifting, and/or carrying up to 30 pounds and 80% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
