JOB SUMMARY
The Systems Engineer I assists the Technology Operations Manager with the overall operation of the bank’s server and storage infrastructure systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties, as assigned, including cross training across other departments, as necessary.
- Assists the Technology Operations Manager with the overall operation of the bank’s server and storage infrastructure systems.
- Installs, administers and optimizes company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported.
- Administers patch management and anti-virus software for the bank’s environment.
- Researches new technologies and potential applications that will benefit the bank.
- Configures all new server implementations and develop processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment.
- Implements redundant systems, policies and procedures for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of organizational data and assets.
- Plans and implements server upgrades, maintenance fixes and vendor-supplied patches.
- Participates in job specific training and other various Bank training programs, as necessary.
- Maintains current knowledge of internal risk controls and loss prevention, including reporting of suspicious or unusual customer activity per Bank policy.
- Maintains current knowledge and complies with all federal and state laws and regulations and all established Bank policies and procedures, including internal audit controls related to department operations.
- Maintains current knowledge of all rules, regulations, and laws as they apply to BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS

- High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred)
- Three to five years of experience in server/networking is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Cisco VoIP, EMC Storage Area Networks, McAfee e-Policy Orchestrator, KACE, multiple data center management and data replication technologies is preferred.
- Banking experience required.
- A hard-working team player with a professional attitude with little need of supervision is required.
- Working knowledge of development and maintenance of Windows Server roles and Microsoft Active Directory/DNS
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Windows 10, Basic Scripting
- Working knowledge of data center virtualization technologies and practices such as VMware.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple requests with frequently conflicting priorities.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and customer relation skills are also required.
- Visual and mental concentration is necessary for accurately performing tasks, working at computer for long periods of time, working in a fast paced, stressful environment and handling frequent interruptions.
- The ability to lift and/or carry heavy technical equipment weighing up to 50 pounds is required.
- The ability to work for lengthy periods of time in a climate controlled (colder than normal) computer room is required.
- Position may require travel to branch locations by car or airplane.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is desired.
ORGANIZATION
- Reports to the Technology Operations Manager.
- This position does not oversee other positions.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
All employees are required to attend scheduled mandatory trainings and complete online regulatory compliance training courses applicable to their specific job function. In all situations, employees must ensure that their actions fully comply with all federal banking laws and regulations, including internal bank policies and procedures. Failure to adhere to these requirements will be grounds for disciplinary action, including probation and possible termination.
