Role Overview 

This position will focus on broad issues that govern quality at Mortgage Solutions. The QC Auditor must always exhibit a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, provide customer service to our internal and external customers, and focus on loan quality and compliance. This position will be responsible for various duties relating to quality control audits and reviews of residential mortgage loan files to ensure accuracy of information and verify that the loan conforms to all company, investors, and regulatory standards. The QC Auditor will perform pre-funding and post-closing audits, and other Quality Control department functions as needed. 

 

Essential Duties: In addition to related job duties as assigned, this position will: 

  • Perform quality control audits on residential mortgage loan files. 

  • Identify issues that may result in the inability to sell a loan on the secondary market. 

  • Communicate effectively with operations staff to address any unresolved issues and elevate concerns to the Quality Control Manager and/or their designee, of any potentially critical issues. 

  • Work in our Loan Origination System (LOS) and our QC audit platform. 

  • Perform reverifications or document reviews as needed to assist in post-closing audits. 

  • Ensure Adverse Action Notices for declined loan files are processed accordingly. 

  • Document imaging in paperless system.  

  • Manage time efficiently and prioritize workloads to meet strict deadlines while handling multiple tasks.  

  • Must stay current on all agency, state, and federal guidelines, and participate in on-going training as the mortgage industry evolves. 

  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company's Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and vendors. 

  • Other duties or projects, as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge 

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of mortgage experience preferred, preferably with auditing background or testing familiarity preferred. 

  • Proficiency with all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) knowledge of Byte and Encompass Loan Origination Systems (LOSs) and ACES audit software is a plus. 

  • Ability to adapt quickly to other information systems.  

  • Ability to work as part of a team and/or independently. 

  • Extremely detail oriented.  

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills  

  • Ability to multitask in a fast pace and stressful environment.  

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.  

  • Professional appearance (business casual)  

  • Professional, courteous, friendly demeanor and excellent phone etiquette  

  • Ability to follow directions and perform work accordingly.  

  • Must be able to pass background check.  

 

Physical Requirements  

  • Stationary position; prolonged periods at a desk and working on the computer. 

  • Occasional movement about inside the office to walk to offices and office machinery.  

  • Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds, must be able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the workday.
