WHAT YOU'LL DO

As the Assistant Controller for the CCBX Division of Coastal, you will oversee daily accounting activities and ensure financial statement data aligns with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements. You will manage and supervise staff, provide escalation support, and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. This role requires discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance, including complex accounting issues and partner program agreements.

HOW YOU'LL DO IT

  • Ensure all daily accounting activities and financial statement data are prepared in accordance with GAAP and regulatory agency requirements. 
  • Manage and supervise assigned staff, providing guidance and escalation support as needed. 
  • Review and approve staff accounting entries to ensure accuracy and completeness. 
  • Participate in the review, interpretation, and clarification of accounting for CCBX partner program agreements. 
  • Implement accurate accounting practices for partner agreements, including revenue recognition and cost accounting, in accordance with the partner accounting memorandum or matrix. 
  • Develop streamlined processes for entries, including daily entries from partner systems and over-the-top entries. 
  • Research and resolve highly complex accounting and processing issues. 
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external teams. 
  • Coordinate with auditors, ensuring requests are fulfilled and documentation is accurate and complete. 
  • Review reporting outputs for partner-related data for internal, external, and regulatory reporting. 
  • Ensure departmental compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory rules. 
  • Develop and implement efficient accounting policies, procedures, and best practices. Own, maintain, and oversee the implementation of department procedures, recommending process improvements to management. 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING  

  • Proven ability to manage and supervise staff, ensuring accountability and performance. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 
  • 7+ years of relevant accounting experience. Experience with Banking, Fintech, or public accounting a plus. 
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience, demonstrating the ability to manage staff, oversee tasks, and provide effective escalation support. 
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis tools and pivot tables. 
  • CPA preferred.

$113,169.00 - $141,462.00 annually
