Job description

This is a remote position.

Client is seeking a Business Consultant.

Environment and Protected Areas is in the midst of a significant transformation of its Regulatory system. A major part of this transformation is a digital transition from multiple disparate, sometime analogue systems into a consolidated Digital Regulatory Assurance System. EPA is looking for an individual to step into a high performing, dynamic team that is enhancing its systems to create a connected digital regulatory system that provides exceptional regulatory assurance for Albertans. The successful applicant will be responsible to work in an agile, results-oriented environment that is regularly implementing novel approaches to environmental regulation in Alberta. The role requires:

• Leading, facilitating and documenting strategic plans and priorities, aligning to Department vision for implementing its Regulatory Assurance Framework;
• Project manage releases of the Digital Regulatory Assurance System to achieve this vision;
• Manage a team to facilitate stakeholder workshops and focus groups;
• Prepare and present strategies and information to steering committees and project groups;
• Prepare and deliver presentations about initiatives or issues to executives and staff, steering committees, project groups and Service Alberta personnel and other stakeholders;
• Assist with risk management and issues management
• Develop and execute change management plans and communication plans
• Develop benefits and performance measure indicators;
• Provide quality assurance services throughout the technological development to ensure completeness, working functionality and business requirements are met while minimizing complexity and technical debt;
• Manage multiple task teams undertaking business design, technological builds, user acceptance testing and implementation/change management for successful releases of new functionality in the Digital Regulatory Assurance System.


Requirements
Professional Licenses/Certification

Active certification in CAPM, PMP or PgMP as issued by the Project Management Institute.

Work Experience
  • Experience conducting, facilitating and interpreting impact and risk assessments.
  • Experience in managing projects in an organization of comparable size and complexity.
  • Experience in the design, development and implementation of a digital transformation.
  • Experience using analytical and problem solving skills to plan and design creative.
  • Experience with Environmental Management System (EMS).

Nice to Have
  • Experience at the senior management level or above in an organization of comparable.
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis of costs and benefits.
  • Experience in the analysis, development, and integration of complex IT systems.
  • Experience with change management.
  • Experience with systems development methodologies and life cycles for application.
