Product Manager - Medical Device

Summary

The Product Manager is a product expert and is responsible for the overall performance of specific product line(s). The Product Manager is responsible for identifying risks and opportunities that may affect the performance of the product(s) and for championing projects to address those risks and opportunities. The Product Manager will lead all upstream strategic and technical product management activities for specific product line(s) to help achieve SunTech’s short and long-term strategic goals. The Product Manager will execute strategic planning, conduct market research, define the market requirements for new products and ensure their inclusion into product releases, and create and maintain Product Life Cycle plans for existing products. Successful candidates are those who define product requirements and user scenarios by understanding the big picture while also paying close attention to detail. This position requires frequent interaction with project managers, internal and external developers, and key customer contacts. A strong technical background is required.

Job Duties include:

• Communicate financial performance of the product line(s) and provide strategic planning to Leadership Group and Executive Board
• Develop and communicate high-level forecasts for production
• Develop and maintain key user contacts for researching and collecting Voice of Customer (VoC) data
• Assess and maintain appropriate pricing models globally
• Monitor value stream and supply chain to identify areas of risk and opportunity
• Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape to maintain a comprehensive competitive matrix
• Collect user feedback of complaints/feature requests.
• Define and document user, buyer, and technical personas for individual products
• For new products, create project charters, develop and document use case scenarios, write the market requirements document defining market problems, define product features, and work with developers to create design specification documents
• Provide technical support to customers for assigned medical devices, including product inquiries and troubleshooting.
• Continual monitoring and assessment of related emerging technologies and industry innovations
• Contribute across the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to day to day product sustaining and development activities
• Stay abreast of all clinical and regulatory requirements (both existing and proposed) for the product group(s)
• Work with Marketing Communications group on product launch activities and on marketing tools for the sales team
• Represent SunTech Medical at customer events and tradeshows

• Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally (20-30%)

Qualifications:

Experience:     3+ years of experience in a product management role required

Experience in medical device industry is preferred

Education:      BS/BA degree in a technical field required; Master’s or MBA preferred
