The Senior Financial Solutions Analyst will be responsible for supporting firm financial analysis by creating sharable datasets and reports and developing standardized systems of reporting best practices. Acting as an internal consultant for the firm's administrative departments, the Senior Financial Solutions Analyst will identify areas of process improvement and use creative problem-solving and business intelligence tools to develop more efficient processes and reporting methods. The Senior Financial Solutions Analyst will also work closely with the firm's Business Intelligence team to develop and implement reporting best practices and identify inconsistencies in existing methodology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify and document inconsistencies in existing financial reporting resources, develop a system of standardization, and propose the consolidation of duplicative reports.
Develop new financial reporting resources using a combination of SQL and BI tools.
Evaluate firm systems and processes, identify inefficiencies, promote automation, and work with key stakeholders to develop an action plan.
Work with business users to document and implement business processes and changes using system best practices (understand business needs, diagram the process, and implement changes).
Demonstrate a good understanding of data structures, data integrity, indexing, etc., and the ability to write efficient stored procedures and views.
Cultivate a deep knowledge of the Aderant financial system and firm accounting processes to support integrations with other firm systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in SQL and adept at working with relational databases.
Strong knowledge of BI concepts and experience using Tableau or Power BI.
Demonstrated project management and problem-solving ability to find creative solutions.
Ability to present technical information in a way that can be understood by both Finance and IT. Technically minded and able to work with vendors on support issues.
Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with both attorneys and staff.
Strong self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficient typing abilities.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and strong Excel skills.
Aptitude and willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies as appropriate.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience at a large professional services firm or corporation.
Strong SSRS experience.
Power Apps experience preferred.
Hands-on experience retrieving data by writing complex SQL.
Experience working in a large law firm is highly preferred.
Experience in financial systems; Aderant experience beneficial.
