Director of Product Design, Growth and Commerce

Location: REMOTE or Nashville, TN

As the Director of Product Design, Growth and Commerce, you will help millions of customers choose, purchase, and convert to members of Asurion and the world’s leading brands it partners with. You will drive growth by bringing clarity to the decisions customers make in seconds through elegant design and value propositions. You adapt understand the complexities of channel choice and adapt service design to drive impact. Whether it’s digital, in-person, messaging and LLMs, you look at the entire customer journey and identify real solutions that drive growth.

What You’ll Do
  • Design Leadership
    • Lead the vision and execution for AI-infused user journeys across growth and commerce—from smart onboarding and recommendation engines to conversational interfaces and dynamic pricing flows.
    • Guide the design of systems that respond to user behavior in real time, leveraging AI for personalization, optimization, and automation.
    • Lead through inspirational doing. As a highly capable designers, your work will influence a design organization of 50+ for it’s excellence in fidelity and strategy.
  • Growth & Monetization Design Strategy
    • Partner with cross-functional leaders to define data-informed design strategies that increase acquisition, activation, engagement, and revenue.
    • Optimize subscription flows, checkout experiences, and upsell mechanisms using AI insights and experimentation.
  • Execution & Optimization
    • Ensure high-quality execution of design work with attention to detail, usability, accessibility, and performance.
    • Promote rapid iteration and experimentation through A/B testing and continuous UX improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Influence
    • Champion the voice of the customer throughout the product development lifecycle.
    • Align design strategies with marketing campaigns, brand initiatives, and business objectives.
    • Collaborate with Data Science and Machine Learning teams to translate models and algorithms into intuitive UX.
    • Act as a bridge between technical innovation and user needs, ensuring AI experiences are transparent, ethical, and human-first.

Experience & Background

  • 10+ years of experience in product design with a strong portfolio spanning consumer and/or B2B SaaS products.
  • Demonstrated success designing commerce and monetization flows (e.g., subscriptions, checkout, payments).
  • Proven experience crafting AI-forward customer experiences.

AI & Innovation

  • Early adopter of AI in creative workflows including content generation, summarization, visual assets, and prototyping.
  • Comfortable integrating AI capabilities into design solutions for enhanced personalization, automation, and decision support.

Design Strategy & Execution

  • Deep understanding of growth design, user acquisition, and conversion rate optimization.
  • Proficiency in modern design and collaboration tools (e.g., Figma, FigJam) and data-informed design decision-making.
  • Strong advocate for inclusive, accessible, and ethical design practices.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership, especially partnering with product, engineering, and data science.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, align stakeholders, and drive strategic clarity and momentum.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience in high-growth tech environments or fast-paced startup settings.
  • Familiarity with experimentation platforms (e.g., Optimizely, LaunchDarkly) and analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel).
  • Background in behavioral psychology, marketing design, or conversion-focused UX writing.
