Job Description

Ashburn Consulting is teaming up with The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) to advance its digital modernization initiatives by providing robust IT services to support its internal workforce.

The Business Analyst will support procurement processes, vendor management, and budget tracking for IT-related projects. This role involves liaising with internal teams to identify supplier needs, managing project costs,
and ensuring the accuracy of invoicing and procurement documentation. Additional duties include
answering calls, responding to requests/inquiries, and collaborating with various teams.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Candidate will liaison with internal and external project teams to identify prospective suppliers and maintain spreadsheets of all activities.
  • Work with Engineering/Infrastructure/Operations/Project Management teams to identify suppliers of goods and services and the needed equipment.
  • Liaise with suppliers and project managers regarding updates and details of goods.
  • Analyze invoices to ensure accuracy of goods delivered.
  • Monitor inventory to ensure the flow of goods remains positive.
  • Weekly or Monthly status reports on progress.
  • Work closely with the projects team to understand details of procurement requirements.
  • Identify inefficiencies and other bugs to be flushed out.
  • Assist with managing project budgets for all technology projects.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

  • 2+ years in an IT Finance or IT Procurement roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferably in the following fields (Accounting, Business, Finance).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft, SharePoint, and Excel.
  • Proven experience working as a procurement specialist.
  • The candidate must be experienced with business applications, supporting financial applications and managing project costs.
  • Additional certification in the field of procurement desired.
  • Strong knowledge of IT.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and rapport building.
  • Strong team building skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience assisting with developing Earned Value reports for each project.
  • Experience assisting with daily cost tracking and controls.
  • Experience assisting with developing Pro-forma invoices for all cost-reimbursable projects.
  • Experience assisting with developing monthly financial summary reports for all projects.
  • Experience assisting with developing performing invoice reconciliations.
  • Interfacing with internal accounting departments to ensure proper budgeting and accounting codes are valid for use.
