The Role
As a Software Engineer at Outreach you will have the opportunity to evolve and shape our data and tooling ecosystem. We’re looking for an Engineer who is passionate about building resilient data pipelines and enabling data users across the entire organization. You will have a great opportunity to make an impact at a young and growing company and help the Business Systems team partner with the broader organization to evolve and mature our analytics, data science, and automation functions.
If you enjoy working inside of and designing complex data models while abstracting away that complexity, this role may be interesting to you. Your focus will be on integrating multiple platforms to create unified interfaces and tools that enable both analytics and operational efficiencies. You will partner broadly with business, analytics, and product engineering teams.
About The Team
The Business Systems Engineering team is on a mission to build highly available and reliable workflow and data infrastructure. We are a centralized resource providing a suite of services to Outreach business functions across Finance, Analytics, Marketing, and Support systems, with data as the critical component to a seamless experience.
Your Daily Adventures Will IncludeImplement data ingestion routines that deliver raw data in a usable formatDevelop a modern workflow orchestration platformAutomate data processes and integrations across multiple internal teamsConstruct, maintain, and test Business Systems data architectureProvide input and recommendations on technical issues and think through trade-offs and risks and communicate them with team/business stakeholdersWork with stakeholders to establish requirements and explain the benefits/risks of proposed approachesRecommend and implement solutions to improve data reliability, efficiency, and qualityOur Vision of You7 years of software engineering experience Experience in developing on top of AWS primitives (EC2/S3)Fluency with SQL querying and optimization (Snowflake and Mysql preferred)Experience with modern orchestration platforms like AirflowExperience designing and consuming JSON and gRPC APIsCompetence in developing within a CI/CD pipelineExperience with large scale distributed system design and implementationExperience working with processing large amounts of dataExperience with distributed bus systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)Our tech stack: Snowflake, Python, DBT - data build tool, Tableau, Airflow#LI-JM1
