POSITION SUMMARY
To deliver and serve food and/or beverage items promptly to the guest while in the guest room, using a friendly and courteous manner maintaining quality and guest satisfaction. Take room service orders, when necessary, accurately in a helpful, friendly, courteous and professional manner to ensure total guest satisfaction.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepare all items used in room service order for AM & PM shifts
Set up room service trays and tables in anticipation of incoming orders.
Communicate with kitchen on special orders. When picking up order, ascertain that the order is complete and prepared to menu or guest specifications. Ensure appropriate condiments and service ware is provided.
Carry trays up to 30 pounds or push wheeled carts to deliver food and beverage orders to the guest room within the prescribed time frame. Set up trays per guest satisfaction in the room, repeat order to guest and present guest check and pen for signature. Advise guest of tray removal procedure and ask if anything else may be provided.
Promptly answer Room Service calls, announce any specials, promote menu items and answer questions regarding preparation methods. Document orders using a guest check or tickets, repeat items back to guest to ensure accuracy and quote expected arrival time with speed and accuracy.
Promptly remove trays and tables from guest floors and returning them to designated locations.
Prepare complimentary Fruit, cheese, cracker, and amenity trays and baskets, creatively. Deliver amenity with accuracy through communication with front desk.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions.
Perform prep side work for AM & PM shifts
Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard property cleaning products to adhere to health standards.
Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
Assist in the dining room and other duties as assigned, including cross-training.
Report any suspicious persons or activities to a supervisor immediately.
Discover and responds to customer needs.
Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
All other duties assigned by manager.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware and all menu items and accompaniments.
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items, and property/LAK (Local Area Knowledge)
Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquires from customers and communicates preparation methods, ability to comprehend written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processed within the property.
Ability to operate a keyboard to input Point of Sale procedures to pre-check, input order and close out the check.
Ability to operate beverage, toast equipment.
Ability to transport a maximum of 50 pounds on a continuous basis.

Upon employment all associates are required to comply with the standards, rules and regulations which may be established by the Company and updated from time to time. Associates who violate property rules or have irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
The Hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules, weekends, holidays and overtime to reflect the business needs of the property. Associates may also be required to attend group and/or department meetings in addition to the work shift as necessary. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
