ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking a Vice President, Self-Perform Services is responsible for the management of the self-perform services program. The role provides oversite including, but not limited to, coatings and linings, civil, electrical and controls, and mechanical and tank service self-perform offerings. This role is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of projects and overall client satisfaction.
Job Functions:
- Provide direct supervision of the Service Line Managers.
- Ensure client satisfaction by maintaining regular contact and communication.
- Manage resources, in conjunction with the Sr. VP Industrial Services, to ensure proper staffing and equipment are available.
- Perform oversight of project execution activities for assigned program/client(s).
- Communicate effectively with assigned team members, as well as company support teams as needed to meet client project/ program requirements.
- Participate in periodic business plan and strategy development.
- Lead execution of annual business plan for assigned program, projects, and clients.
- Lead periodic program team meetings and conference calls.
- Participate in monthly Program Reviews.
- Review financial performance on all assigned projects to include cash flow, meet/beat budgets, timely subcontractor/vendor pay applications, etc.
- Coordinate with Corporate Safety and the Industrial Services VP, Health & Safety to ensure safe work practices are in place for all assigned project execution activities, as well as all required personnel training and certifications are in place for assigned personnel resources.
- Coordinate with the VP, Quality to ensure compliance with all quality control processes and requirements with respect to projects and welding procedures and all welder certifications.
- Coordinate hiring process with HR and office management personnel.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine scope of work and deliverables.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and cost analysis for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Develop detailed and itemized cost estimates and proposals in line with company standards and client expectations.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subject matter experts to validate approach and ensure constructability.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing and alignment with project requirements.
- Maintain and update estimating tools, cost databases, and historical project data to support consistent and accurate pricing.
- Identify risks, constraints, and value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs and margins.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client presentations as necessary to support the estimating process.
- Ensure timely submission of estimates in accordance with bid schedules and deadlines.
- Assist in hand-off to operations team, providing detailed breakdowns and clarifications as needed.
- Support EVP Industrial Services and Senior Leadership in preparation of annual business plan development and execution.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- High school diploma or GED
- 10+ years’ progressive project/program management experience in fueling systems repair and maintenance or construction
- 5+ years fuel systems maintenance, repair, and construction project management experience
- 2+ years client management/business development experience
- Familiar with DoD Fuel Facility UFGS, UFC, EM-385 requirements
- Fluent in the English language
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform at a high level under stringent project deadlines
- Ability to prioritize required tasks to meet multiple schedule deadlines
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel
- Attention to detail
- Must be able to pass a background check required to access US military installations
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- API 570 Piping Inspector, API 653 Aboveground Storage Tank Inspector, Steel Tank Institute Tank Systems Inspector, AMPP Level I Coatings Inspector, and/or Project Management Professional certification(s) (preferred, not required)
