About the Position:

As an E&S Compliance Analyst, you’ll assist our Director, Business Operations, with leading our internal audit and tax compliance for multiple states and various E&S lines of business. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and leveraging technology to optimize our processes and workflows.

 

We need an experienced tech-savvy problem solver with experience with P&C data. You understand the complexities of insurance operations, transactions, and filings.


*This position is a 100% remote U.S. based opportunity that can be based in one of the following states only: AL, AZ, FL, GA, KY, LA, MA, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI.

 

Some travel for day-to-day work, team meetings, and training will be required.

Key Responsibilities: (What you'll be asked to do)

  • Prepare and submit regulatory and premium reports to state-specific surplus lines organizations.
  • Research and analyze state-specific rules and regulations that govern E&S tax filing requirements.
  • Monitor and promptly respond to notifications received from tax authorities and surplus lines organizations.
  • Partner with our Director, Business Operations, to perform internal quarterly tax filing audits.
  • Identify tax filing system problems and triage with our software development team.
  • Partner with our finance team to ensure accurate payments are made to State and Bureau assessments.
  • Ability to perform your own detailed data validation and analysis.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, state legislation, and market conditions to assist in reviewing state objections and drafting responses.
  • Participate in reviewing and streamlining our workflows and processes.

 Some Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in reporting, auditing, tax filing, or accounting-related positions.
  • Previous knowledge of Personal Lines, Commercial E&S, and Flood lines of Insurance preferred.
  • E&S insurance tax filing knowledge strongly preferred.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience is required.


Computer Skills:

  • We’re an MS Office environment (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Intermediate experience with data analysis tools and softwares (Excel, SQL, or other data analysis software).
  • Experience using video and chat technology (MS Teams & Slack)


Other:
