This is a home-based, remote position.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Directs the Group Technical Education and training programs for clinical and technical staff to ensure the provision of the highest quality of patient care. Provides guidance, support and subject matter expertise to technical staff providing education and training to ensure that all applicable subject matter is covered and that all identified training and education needs are met. Participates in defining and implementing strategies and initiatives related to Technical Services to achieve group and company goals and objectives.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides oversight of all aspects of Dialysis Technical training for Technical and Direct Patient Care staff in the assigned Group including the design and development of the material and lesson plans; train the trainer training; new employee training; and on-going In-service training.
Oversees and implements training programs to support the delivery of quality patient care as per the standards set forth in the FMS Clinical Services Clinical Manuals, Biomedical Education Program and Policies and Procedures.
Supports the incorporation of policies and procedures that are developed by Technical Services and Clinical Services into facility practices.
Collaborates with the Clinical Operations Support (COS), Biomedical Services, Regulatory Compliance Team and Biomedical Teams to drive quality standards through education regarding all ESRD regulatory and legal requirements and the practice of Continuous Quality Improvement.
Responsible for training management on all technical related programs and new technologies.
Supports facility-specific, Regional, Group, and Division quality goals and action plans, in order to achieve quality standards.
Collaborates with appropriate management and executives in the scheduling and implementation of training programs and processes.
Implementing training according to company policy, including compliance with all risk management initiatives.
Responsible for assisting in addressing and acting on any adverse events and action thresholds as appropriate.
Tracks, collects, and reports on data for education programs (new employee orientation, Water Training) as directed.
Recommends updates and changes to technical policies and procedures as appropriate.
Ensures education of the appropriate personnel regarding the integrity and safety of the facility water systems.
Provides guidance and support to the Preceptors and Biomedical Tech positions.
Utilizes expertise and current knowledge regarding new equipment and best practices, to provide recommendations to the Technical Department management regarding the development of new technical training tools and cost saving programs ensuring the training programs contribute to and meet the Group long term and short term goals and objectives.
Acts as the subject matter expert providing advice to the Education department regarding Technical training matters.
Participates in renal disease management programs.

The position may involve moderately active work including walking and standing for considerable lengths of time. Bending down to floor level is required for some of the housekeeping duties.
EDUCATION:
Associates Degree or higher.
National Biomedical Certification will be required within 18 months of hire.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
Must have college level writing and comprehension skills.
Must be able to demonstrate expertise with Microsoft Power Point, Word and Excel.
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the Dialysis Field as a Technician.
Background as technical services trainer or educator of at least 2-3 years preferred and successful completion of the FMC Biomedical Training Program for Technical Staff.
Successful completion of the FMC Technical Education Program within 18 months of accepting the position.
Demonstrated leadership competencies and skills for the position, including excellent communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, motivating employees, performance management, and decision making.
