Position Overview:

We seek a motivated and organized Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our team for in-house Counsel at Martinez, Dieterich & Zarcone Legal Group. This role involves providing high-quality administrative and legal support to our in-house counsel, ensuring the protection of our policyholders and the company's legal interests.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hires, trains and supports new employees on the team
  • Manage employee performance, including but not limited to employee discipline

(including suspensions and/or terminations) and employee promotions and/or

recommendations of discipline and/or promotion

  • Builds and maintains an effective team through performance management - coaches,

counsels, and disciplines team members

  • Creates and administers periodic performance reviews
  • Manages team scheduling, approval of PTO, and other time off requests
  • Assigns work and workload according to his or her assessment of company need and

team member skill and experience level

  • Manages attendance.
  • Consults with HR, in conjunction with Office Manager, on employee relations

issues, leave of absence requests, employee injuries, HR compliance/policies, and

other matters

  • Ensures adherence to company policies, standards, and goals within the department
  • Conducts team meetings with the team at regular intervals
  • Oversees day-to-day operations of team and supports those outside the department
  • Remains available to team to answer questions, assist with clients, and guide on

compliance

  • As needed, performs paralegal duties for Senior

Attorney

  • Runs reports as needed to verify and have accountability in department
  • Takes on special projects as required by management
  • Performs other duties as required by management, from time to time

Qualifications/Requirements

  • At least seven years of relevant civil litigation experience 2. Excellent management, communication and presentation skills 3. Flexibility and adaptability to change; must be able to multi-task 4. Knowledgeable in the Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 5. Self motivated; able to work independently; and handle confidential matters

Summary

Education/Training/Experience

  • Requires a High School Diploma.
  • Paralegal degree or Certificate preferred.

Qualifications/Requirements
