Job description

Indigo Research provides a unique opportunity to mentor highly motivated high school students from around the world, helping them learn about academic research and complete a college-level project. Our program offers high-quality research mentorship to aspiring students from diverse backgrounds, with the goals of giving them valuable experience in academic research and making a significant impact on their future academic and professional careers.

As an Indigo Research Mentor specializing in Engineering, you will work remotely and connect with students via video call. You will guide them through the research and writing process, focusing on topics such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, or materials science. The goal is to help them complete and publish a small independent research project, such as a design prototype, research paper, or simulation model. Through your mentorship, you will help students develop their technical skills and explore the innovative world of engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Assistant Professor at a US top 15 or UK top 10 universities in Engineering or related fields.
  • A high degree of empathy and deep cross-cultural comfort when working with high-school students.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and implementing changes.
  • Flexible when working in a start-up environment.
  • Sound judgment and knowing when to ask for support!
