Maintenance Facility Technician

JOB PURPOSE

The Maintenance Technician role exists to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and electronics. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and functional facility environment through proactive maintenance and timely repairs.

STRUCTURE

The Maintenance Technician typically reports to the Facilities Manager or Maintenance Supervisor. They may oversee the work of junior maintenance staff or contractors for specific projects. Additionally, they may collaborate with other departments such as Operations or Administration for maintenance-related tasks.

RESPONSIBILITY

• Conducting regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of building systems.
• Coordinating with external contractors for specialized maintenance work.
• Creating and installing wooden structures or fixtures as required for building maintenance or improvement projects.
• Troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment and systems within the facility.
• Performing wall repairs, painting, and other cosmetic maintenance tasks.
• Acting as a handyman for miscellaneous repairs and tasks around the facility.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

• Educational requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certifications or vocational training preferred.
• Experience requirements: 2-3 years of experience in building maintenance or related field.
• Behavioral competencies: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently, excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to safety.
