Job Summary
The District Manager will provide overall planning, direction, and control to assigned accounts including but not limited to: Conference, Reservations, workplace and Reception Services. It looks to achieve operations and financial goals within a defined district. The District Manager will provide guidance and motivation to the account managers as well as other district associates. It establishes and maintains effective customer/client rapport for a portfolio of 15-25 million dollars in managed volume.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintaining close communications with the clients to ensure that the Rapport staff is meeting and exceeding expectations on an ongoing basis. Identifies client needs, communicates unit progress, operations problems and new Company programs to client.
Ensure employee training and engagement programs are utilized with operations to achieve organization objectives.
Collaborates with colleagues to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and guidelines to promote their consistent application
Conducts operation audits of district units. Designs improvements to optimize financial performance and operational productivity.
Develops and monitors district forecasts. Ensures that each unit's financial performance meets Company and client forecasts
Participates in the sales process by working the pre-proposal study teams, aiding in presentations, preparing opening team schedules and coordinating/leading opening teams. Conducts client negotiations and renegotiate unit contracts. Coordinates documentation of contract changes
Ensures consistent and equitable administration of human resource policies, procedures and guidelines to facilitate effective employee relations and support the preferred employer focus. Audits performance appraisals and associate files. Monitors affirmative action plans
Recruits for management positions. Identifies district training requirements. Develops and coaches management associates to meet staffing and succession planning needs, as well as to ensure optimum utilization of district associates
Educational Requirements and/or Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
ServSafe certified and HAACP knowledge
Experience:
Minimum of five years of experience managing conference, workplace and reception services operations
Multi-unit experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A passion for delivering transformational service in hospitality.
Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to carry out responsibilities with little supervision, as well as juggle many tasks simultaneously.
Ability to interact with customers in a professional and pleasant manner, on a daily basis.
Ability to manage and mentor a diverse work force, providing associates with ongoing training and other opportunities for career development.
Knowledge of financial reporting and experience with financial/statistical analysis.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of office technology/equipment.
Familiarity with conference room reservation/space management systems.
Discreet, ethical and committed to maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel may be required.
