Job Summary

The Department of Emergency Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor (HS) / Director of Quality. The successful candidate will:

  • Perform all functions of an attending Emergency Medicine Physician in all areas of the Emergency Department (Main, Fast Track, Pediatrics).
    • This includes medical management, utilization of appropriate consultations, and timely patient dispositions while appropriately supervising residents, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
    • It also includes creating timely and accurate medical records communication the care rendered and decision-making process.
    • Work must be collaborative and collegial and adhere to the highest professional standards.
    • Conduct clinical shifts, with a minimum of 2 per week.
Required Qualifications

  • New York State Medical License.
  • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine or Board Eligible if residency was completed within the prior 5-years.
    • If Board Certified, must maintain PALS certification.
    • If Board Eligible, must maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications.
