Under the direction and supervision of the department management, the Accountant has these major responsibilities: prepare assigned journal entries, reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and assist with the month end process, assist with monthly variance analysis, and prepare sales tax returns and basic tax research.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to develop a unit/team-wide spirit and intra-team and inter-team cooperation.
Stays focused on all key stakeholders and supports the unit/team ability to deliver on all valid stakeholder expectations.
Prepare assigned journal entries.
Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts with supporting schedules.
Assist with the Month End close process.
Assist with monthly Variance Analysis.
Prepare sales tax returns for various entities
Prepare basic tax research as needed.
Record and maintain records for subsidiary entities.
Record and maintain records for external investments.
Assist with preparation of Monthly Board Meeting information as assigned.
Cross train for duties assigned to the other positions in the Finance Department to fill in as needed.
Prepares other financial schedules, perform data analyses, coordinate report distribution and does miscellaneous projects as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
1 or more years of general accounting experience.
1 or more years of general ledger experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
3 or more years of experience in the healthcare environment.
3 or more years of experience in Public Accounting
Preferred Licensure and Certification
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - State Board of Accountancy
Knowledge Requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Advance knowledge and experience with spreadsheets.
Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of accounting rules and procedures including GAAP.
