Job description

BirdLife Europe and Central Asia is looking for creative, experienced filmmakers or a film production team to create an inspiring and visually striking documentary that tells the story of nature restoration in Bulgaria and Georgia.

This film will be part of an international awareness and advocacy effort. It will highlight the importance of the work of BirdLife and its local Partners, and is aimed at a wide range of audiences from funders, and decision makers, development banks to the nature-loving and climate-concerned public.

EXPECTED DELIVERABLES:

  • Final Documentary (20-25 minutes duration)
  • Final script for the documentary
  • Voice over for the documentary (if needed)
  • Subtitles in English
  • Raw material of footage (for Partners to re-use)

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • The candidates need to have proven experience in collaborative projects and nature-related documentaries / strong storytelling
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse Partners and communities
  • Understanding of environmental, cultural, and social dimensions of restoration (including respectful collaboration in nature with minimal interference during filming)
  • Optional: existing contacts with local production companies/individuals, but not a strict must - Note: Our Partners will be able to assist with making local connections and giving access to important sites, assisting with logistics if no previous contacts exist and translating when needed.
