Reporting to Director CoE EMIA he/she will support manufacturing operations in safety, production efficiency and quality related topics as well as establishing and maintaining best demonstrated practices and any other initiative throughout Automotive EMIA Plating that could improve interplant collaboration.

Develop and implement new surfaces and Plating technologies.

Your main tasks:
  • Lead various manufacturing projects, including: Process improvements, Cost reduction, efficiency improvement, safety upgrades and introduction of innovation
    • Introduction of advanced technologies to plating area (digital factory)
    • Support of EMIA Plating departments
    • Continuous improvement of safety, quality and productivity in the plating area
    • Participation in the definition of the plating strategy and TE Best roadmap
    • Support footprint optimization activities
    • Support the TEOA transformation
    • Work together with CoE Factory Leaders to facilitate interplant collaboration
    • Identify technical training needs to ensure the plating departments stay at the forefront of technology
  • Contact point for Global CoE and across regions.
  • Drive Performance inside our Plating departments – Roll out Best Practices (SDP’s) and RTD Projects across AUT EMIA Locations
  • Support PE and Advanced Engineering to develop and implement new surfaces.
  • Define Production line Standards together with ME Plating  
  • Benchmark internally and externally on potential best practices with focus on main process KPI’s
Your ideal background:
  • Master’s degree (mechanical engineering) / Bachelor                      
  • 5+years of experience in various Engineering or Process Development assignments. Automotive industry preferred.
  • 3+years of experience in Automotive Plating (TE Plating is preferable)
  • People management experience (direct reports) is preferable
  • Strong background in technical concepts and in machines / tools /production
  • Advanced knowledge of Operational Excellence and Lean tools
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team player
  • Demonstrating maturity and leadership to the plants
  • Six sigma education and attitude (GB or BB)
  • Innovative
  • Culturally sensitive
  • Mobility and willingness to travel (up to 50% from the time)
