JOB SUMMARY: 

The role of the Senior Manager of Expert Search is pivotal within the Expert Services Division. This professional is tasked with leading expert services consultants, and the research and recruiting teams, ensuring their performance meets the department's standards. Key responsibilities include implementing operational strategies, setting performance goals, and providing guidance to supervisors. The ideal candidate will prioritize the client experience, demonstrating efficiency, superior communication, organizational, and relationship management skills. The Senior Manager is expected to drive the team's direction, aligning with strategic objectives through clear communication, action plans, and accountability measures. 

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Oversee daily operations across multiple departments to ensure high-quality service delivery and productivity. 
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of supervisors and individual contributors. 
  • Serve as a key liaison between departments and executive leadership, ensuring alignment of priorities and initiatives. 
  • Drive process optimization, automation, and documentation to scale operations efficiently. 
  • Monitor KPIs, department performance metrics, and resource allocation to meet or exceed performance targets. 
  • Approves and oversees the hiring and training of all employees in the department. 
  • Seeks out opportunities to innovate to improve client outcomes and efficiency. 
  • Monitors and manages department budget.  
  • Collaborates with sales and account management leaders to improve client experience, client satisfaction and close rate. 
  • Drives productivity trends and results in line with department vision and corporate goals. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 

  • Proven track record managing multiple departments or functions with a focus on operational excellence and team performance. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience leveraging data to inform decisions. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to lead through influence and build trust across levels. 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change, manage competing priorities, and perform under pressure. 
  • Possesses creativity and innovation to find new solutions to complex issues.  
  • Analyze and effect change to improve performance using existing and new research tools. 
  • Demonstrates ability to grasp litigation concepts.

EDUCATION & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • BS or BA degree, required 
  • 5–7+ years of progressive leadership experience in a professional services or fast-paced business environment. 
  • 5+ years’ experience managing or leading a professional services team 
  • Experience in a metrics-driven, client-service environment. 
  • Law/consulting firm experience a plus 
  • Familiarity with tools and technologies that support team collaboration, workflow tracking, or AI-driven operations. 
  • Working knowledge of ATS and/or customer relationship management systems (CRM) preferred  

LOCATION: 

  • This position is 100% remote and supports east to west coast time zones
