What you’ll be doing:

  • Leads the development of performance-driven and brand storytelling motion content across Social (TikTok, Instagram/Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest), Addressable (OTT, OLV, OLA, DCO), and Marketplaces (Amazon, Walmart, and more).

  • Drives the motion design vision, strategy, and execution for client brands—owning visual storytelling across short-form video and animated content while ensuring creative aligns with marketing and performance objectives.

  • Manages, mentors, and grows a team of motion designers and animation specialists—setting high standards for quality, providing constructive feedback, and fostering professional development.

  • Executes expert-level motion design and video content across all digital channels, maintaining a high standard of creativity, technical precision, and brand alignment for clients.

  • Partners cross-functionally with art directors, writers, strategists, and producers to align creative direction with business strategy and channel-specific best practices.

  • Oversees the full creative process for motion projects—from storyboarding, conceptualizing, animating, editing, rendering, to final delivery—with a focus on driving measurable marketing results.

  • Presents motion design concepts, project approaches, and creative rationale to internal teams, stakeholders, and clients with clarity and confidence.

  • Owns and evolves the visual storytelling standards for motion/video assets, ensuring consistency in look, tone, and quality across all touchpoints and campaigns.

  • Leads brainstorming and creative ideation sessions, championing new techniques, technologies, and visual trends in animation and video content.

  • Prioritizes department workload and optimizes project management workflows, ensuring motion projects are delivered on time, on budget, and at the highest quality.

  • Stays ahead of digital and video design trends, platform algorithms, and new animation technologies to keep the organization and client work at the forefront of innovation.

  • Proactively mentors and upskills junior and mid-level motion designers, fostering a collaborative, creative, and continuously improving team environment.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of professional motion design experience, with at least 3+ years leading a team in an agency or fast-paced production environment
     

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator); strong editing, compositing, and animation skills required, experience working in Figma
     

  • Deep understanding of social-first video content, digital storytelling, performance creative, and OTT/streaming platform best practices
     

  • Strong portfolio showcasing motion work that balances creativity with marketing performance objectives
     

  • Experience presenting motion design work directly to clients and/or leadership teams with confidence and strategic insight
     

  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
     

  • Highly skilled in storytelling, pacing, typography, and layout for motion and short-form content
     

  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage creative workflows across a distributed/remote team
     

  • Passion for innovation, testing new formats and techniques, and staying ahead of trends in motion design, animation, and digital video
     

A growth mindset, with a strong focus on mentoring, coaching, and team leadership

Tinuiti Bonus Based:

The hiring salary range for this role is ($105,000 - $120,000) plus a discretionary performance bonus of up to (10%) of base salary. Hiring salaries are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, parity with other team members, and alignment with market data.
