Job description

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or related field required.
    8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, with at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role.
  • Healthcare finance experience is required, preferably in a multi-service-line environment (e.g., hospice, home health, PACE, inpatient, etc.).
  • Proven experience in supporting operational and strategic decision-making through financial modeling, analytics, and business partnership.

Technical Skills & Systems Expertise:

Workday Adaptive Planning:

  • Advanced expertise required, including model building, reporting suites, versioning, and scenario planning.
  • Experience with Workday Financials is a strong plus.

Financial Modeling & Analysis, Data Analytics & Visualization:

  • Proficient in Power BI, Power Query, and Tableau to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong Excel and data modeling skills, including advanced formula writing, pivot tables, and automation techniques.
  • Expert in building and maintaining dynamic financial models (e.g., staffing models, margin analysis, service line profitability, proformas, etc.).
  • Ability to perform complex scenario modeling, including multi-year forecasts and margin improvement initiatives.

Core Competencies:

Strategic Partnership: 

  • Experience serving as a key advisor to operational and clinical leaders, offering financial insight to guide decision-making.
  • Ability to support and challenge cross-functional teams with data-driven recommendations.

Presentation & Communication: 

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present executive-level financial presentations to senior leadership, CEO/CFO, and board members.
  • Strong storytelling skills using financial and operational data.

Leadership & Team Development: 

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a strong FP&A team in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Commitment to team collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Operational Reviews & Performance Management: 

  • Experience conducting and supporting monthly operational and financial reviews, with a focus on KPIs, trends, and drivers.
  • Ability to design and lead performance dashboards and monthly review decks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is required to sit for long periods of time. Manual dexterity and visual acuity are necessary to type using a computer keyboard, visually read information off a computer monitor and paper documents. Requires ability to orally communicate information over the telephone and in person and hear responses. Requires ability to lift/carry up to 10 lbs.

This is a remote position.  There will be occasional travel to throughout the Empath Health footprint.
