Lilly has initiated a program that will transform how Lilly will manage transportation of materials and products.  This will enable standardized transportation management processes and support the build of a scalable solution across Lilly distribution sites worldwide as our company navigates unprecedented growth.  The Global SAP IT team is responsible for the design, development, and deployment of this transportation management solution (TMS) and is actively searching for an SAP architect to join the program.
 

What You’ll Be Doing
Your primary focus will be on the design and implementation of SAP Inventory Management solution to help the organization manage our inventory requirements.  This will include helping identify solutions to ensure efficient processes and integrations with our logistical service providers.     As a Solution Architect, you will partner with business SMEs, cross-functional solution architects, and third-party service providers on the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP Inventory Management Solutions.  You will leverage technical and business process knowledge to influence strategy and design decisions that advance program goals of harmonized, simplified processes and sustainable solutions. 

     

How You Will Succeed

  • Partner with business stakeholders, cross-functional solution architects within the SAP program as well as architects within warehousing and distribution to design sustainable integration across  systems.
  • Partner with application architects to influence technical direction of software vendors, service providers, and the service delivery teams.
  • Utilize understanding of supply chain business processes for distribution/deliveries, procurement, and SAP Inventory Management functionality to anticipate short term and long term requirements.
  • Ensure solution design and documentation facilitates strong support processes with robust monitoring and error handling
  • Communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and influence decision making at senior leadership level.
  • Mentor IT colleagues (Lilly colleagues and external consultants) to support the SAP Inventory Management solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to all quality, compliance and data integrity requirements.
  • Establish key relationships with business users and other Tech@Lilly areas.

 What You Should Bring

  • Understanding of business process in the procurement, receiving, warehousing and  distribution/delivery space and the various SAP solutions that support inventory management business processes.   
  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to lead a cross-functional team of logistics experts and distribution partners in designing and optimizing inventory management solutions including blueprinting, requirement gathering, conceptual design and scoping efforts.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry (i.e. GMP).
  • Strong understanding of quality processes in IT applicable to procurement and distribution.
  • Excellent initiative and self-management skills as well as ability to lead teams, influence others and manage conflict.

Your Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field 
  • 10+ years of professional experience implementing and maintaining SAP demonstrating relevant understanding of SAP design.
  • Minimum of two full lifecycle implementations with SAP.

  • Full time day shift position 
  • Travel : 10 to 25%

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$123,000 - $180,400

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
