Why This Role Matters
Christie’s is looking for a freelance video editor to join our team.
How You'll Make an Impact
Assembling and Editing Footage: Taking raw footage, often from multiple sources, and assembling it into 1-3 min sequences for social media and web.
Graphics/Animation Capabilities: Adding graphics, titles, and visual effects to enhance the storytelling and engagement.
Audio Integration: Synchronizing audio tracks, mixing sound effects, dialogue, and music to create a cohesive soundscape.
Color Correction: Adjusting color levels, contrast, and brightness.
Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with directors, producers, and other team members to understand the creative vision and implement feedback.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in using software such as Premiere Pro, Davinci, After Effects and Photoshop.
Meeting Deadlines: Video editors often work under tight deadlines to deliver final products in a timely manner.
What you’ll bring to the team
Creative and Storytelling Skills: A strong understanding of storytelling principles and a keen eye for visuals are crucial.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Suite) is a must.
Communication and Collaboration: The ability to effectively communicate with others and collaborate on projects is essential.
Attention to Detail: Pay close attention to detail to ensure the final product is of high quality.
Adaptability and Flexibility: The ability to adapt to different projects and work under pressure. Availability on weekends if needed.
Research: Archival and music research as needed
Produce creative, eye-catching video content that elevates the Christie’s brand
Highly skilled in creating both visually forward, social videos and 1-3 minute narrative videos
Efficient workflow, organized and ability to follow tight deadlines
Experience in Premiere Pro, Davinci, After Effects and Photoshop
Experience with sound, animation and color correction
Maintain the brand's identity by ensuring consistency in visual storytelling, including typography, graphic styling, and treatments
Availability to work some weekends
Royalty free music sourcing
Archival research
Collaborate closely with video and marketing teams
Salary: $500-1000 per day
