ActioNet has an upcomning opportunity for a Lead Database Engineer able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.  This position is 95% telework reporting at the following locations:

TheThe Lead Database Engineer is responsible for architecting, managing, and optimizing mission-critical databases that support agency applications and services. This role leads database modernization efforts, ensures high performance and data integrity, and enforces security and compliance across cloud and on-premise database platforms. The engineer supports day-to-day operations and guides strategic decisions around platform selection, backup and recovery architecture, and performance tuning. is responsible for architecting, managing, and optimizing mission-critical databases that support agency applications and services. This role leads database modernization efforts, ensures high performance and data integrity, and enforces security and compliance across cloud and on-premise database platforms. The engineer supports day-to-day operations and guides strategic decisions around platform selection, backup and recovery architecture, and performance tuning.
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
    • Design, implement, and maintain secure, high-availability database solutions (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
    • Conduct performance tuning, data modeling, and capacity planning.
    • Manage replication, failover, and disaster recovery configurations.
    • Implement and monitor data backup strategies; restore services as needed.
    • Support audits and documentation for data compliance and ATO processes.
Basic Qualifications (required): 
      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
      • 10+ years of database administration and engineering experience.
      • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database management tools.

    Preferred Qualifications:

      • Oracle Certified Professional or equivalent certification.
      • Experience with RDS in AWS or Azure SQL, and NIST SP 800-53 compliance.
