up to 1400 USD

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (CST)

Position Overview:

We're looking for a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to take ownership of high-volume invoicing operations. This role ensures that clients receive accurate, compliant, and timely invoices, contributing directly to contract success and long-term satisfaction. You'll be trained and supported with a structured onboarding plan:

Weeks 12: Shadowing and training
Weeks 34: 1520 invoices per day
Weeks 56: 30 invoices per day
Week 7+: 40+ invoices per day

You'll learn tax nuances, client-specific invoicing rules, and internal systems, all while contributing to a growing, cross-functional finance team. This position interacts with upper management daily, offering strong visibility and professional growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process 350 - 400 invoices per month once fully ramped.
  • Upload line-item invoices into client portals, ensuring formatting accuracy.
  • Apply correct tax rules based on project type and state (e.g., IL, IN, WI).
  • Maintain high speed and accuracy under volume pressure.
  • Work with accounting and senior management to validate invoices.
  • Follow specific client submission protocols and timelines.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in the billing workflow.


Qualifications:

  • 1-2+ years of experience in billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable.
  • High attention to detail and process accuracy.
  • Comfortable navigating multiple systems and invoice formats.
  • Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets (basic level).
  • Eagerness to learn state tax rules and internal processes.
  • Clear, concise written communication skills.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar billing platforms.
  • Exposure to construction, trades, or service-oriented businesses.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams,
  • Background working in small businesses or entrepreneurial environments,
