Basic Function
Lumin Digital is looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape the future of digital banking. In this role, you’ll independently drive complex design efforts, contribute to strategic initiatives, and play a key role in translating user and business needs into thoughtful, high-impact product experiences.

At Lumin, we value trust, respect, and boldness. Senior designers at Lumin are trusted problem-solvers who bring strong UX craft, systems thinking, and a collaborative spirit to their work. You’ll work across a variety of product areas—leading some projects independently and partnering with cross-functional teams to support others. You’ll also help evolve our design system and mentor designers through feedback and shared work.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities, Experience:
- Lead end-to-end design efforts for complex projects, from early discovery through execution and iteration
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, Researchers, and other Designers to define problems, explore solutions, and deliver intuitive user experiences
- Translate goals and requirements into well-structured design deliverables, including flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final designs
- Guide others through the design process, offering feedback, sharing rationale, and elevating the quality of work across the team
- Participate in and apply user research findings to ensure your designs are grounded in user needs and behaviors
- Improve existing patterns and help shape new additions to our design system with scalability and consistency in mind

What You’ll Bring:
- A strong track record of independently delivering complex, user-centered product design work
- The ability to think strategically while executing meticulously—you're comfortable zooming out to consider the big picture, then zooming in to sweat the details
- Experience improving or influencing requirements to enhance the user experience
- A portfolio that demonstrates clear problem-solving, design rationale, and measurable outcomes
- Proficiency with tools like Figma and experience working within and evolving a design system
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to contribute to a collaborative, remote-first team
- Experience mentoring or supporting other designers through critique, collaboration, or shared work
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Growth:
30 days: Develop a deep understanding of Lumin’s design system, tools, and product goals while collaborating with team members.
90 days: Take ownership of design projects, delivering impactful solutions that align with user needs and product strategy.
1 year: Become a key contributor to product strategy, design innovation, and the evolution of Lumin’s digital experiences.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- 6–8 years of professional experience in product or UX design
- Experience working in fintech or other highly regulated, complex domains
- Familiarity with user research methods and integrating findings into the design process
- Interest in how AI can amplify design and product development
- Accountability to users, customers, and team members
- Strong collaborative design mindset with experience implementing design thinking processes
- Expertise in User Experience (UX) and Interaction Design, as well as User Interface (UI) and aesthetic design
- Proficiency in responsive design, wireframing, visual design, and prototyping
- Ability to create and validate User Stories
- Proficiency with Figma
- Familiarity with design systems
- Leadership in design studios and workshops
