Job description

LA (Lindeman & Associates) launched in 2015 and quickly established itself as a leader in the entertainment advertising space, winning Clio’s Agency of the Year in 2017. We are looking for an exceptional Production Design Systems Specialist to join our LA Managed Services team working on a 12-month contract working with a leading global client. 

This role is a remote position, with a preference for candidates located in, or accustomed to working in, the Pacific Time Zone. 

Summary

You will join a team that ensures efficient collaboration among production design teams to create quality art at scale. They develop workflow audits, new processes, and training syllabi with cross-functional teams such as operations, technology groups, production designers and producers. They identify automation opportunities and represent the human design process in tooling requirements. The team also creates common methodologies to measure effectiveness, stability, and design quality across systems. We are seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Production Design Systems Specialist with 5 years of experience to support this team

This role will focus on a proprietary application and will act as a critical link between cross-functional teams, ensuring that design tools and systems are efficient, scalable, and aligned with internal standards. The ideal candidate for the role relishes in the details of the production design process and understands how to navigate art production at a high volume.
 

What You’ll Do:

  • Evaluate and Enhance Processes: Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing workflows to identify opportunities for automation and areas where a designer's expertise can be seamlessly integrated.
  • Balance Automation with Human Insight: Design and implement production systems that harmonize automated efficiencies with the nuanced judgment of human designers.
  • Represent Human-Centered Design: Ensure that the intricacies of the human design process are accurately reflected and preserved in the development of design tools and systems.
  • Develop Scalable Systems: Architect and establish production design systems that are robust, scalable, and adaptable to evolving project needs.
  • Simplify Complex Workflows: Analyze and refine intricate production processes, streamlining them to enhance clarity, efficiency, and user experience.
  • Audit and Prioritize Improvements: Systematically audit current workflows, map existing processes, and prioritize areas for improvement to drive continuous operational enhancements.
  • Integrate and Iterate Tools: Select and integrate appropriate tools into the workflow, with a commitment to continuous iteration and optimization for optimal performance.
  • Create Comprehensive Documentation: Develop detailed documentation, including workflow maps, process flowcharts, and training materials, to support team understanding and adoption.
  • Facilitate Process Transitions: Plan and support the implementation of process changes, ensuring smooth transitions and successful adoption of new workflows across teams.
  • Onboard and Train Teams: Lead the onboarding and training of production teams, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to navigate new systems and processes effectively.
  • Establish Design Standards: Develop and promote production design standards, ensuring consistency and excellence across all design outputs.
  • Implement Project Management Systems: Create and manage production design project management systems, streamlining project tracking and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • A minimum of five years' experience in design operations, systems design, or a closely related discipline, demonstrating a deep understanding of design processes and methodologies.
  • Exceptional ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, employing clear, concise language and relatable analogies to ensure comprehension.
  • Acute listening skills, enabling the interpretation of requests from creative and production teams with precision, and the formulation of insightful, clarifying questions when necessary.
  • Proficiency in navigating dynamic, fast-paced environments, exhibiting adaptability and responsiveness to shifting priorities and deadlines.

Collaboration & Project Management

  • Demonstrated success in leading and contributing to cross-functional initiatives, effectively collaborating with diverse teams to achieve unified objectives.
  • Extensive experience in managing large-scale, complex projects, overseeing all phases from inception to execution, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Adept at working closely with creative and production teams, understanding their workflows, and proactively addressing their needs to facilitate seamless project delivery.

Technical Proficiency & Communication

  • Advanced proficiency in Keynote, Numbers, and Pages, utilizing these tools to create compelling presentations, detailed analyses, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, characterized by clarity, conciseness, and a proactive approach to information sharing.
  • Ability to swiftly assimilate feedback from multiple stakeholders, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Self-Motivation & Problem-Solving

  • Self-driven and resourceful, capable of independently identifying and resolving technical and process-related challenges, ensuring uninterrupted project progress.
  • Experience in high-pressure, time-sensitive production settings, maintaining composure and delivering quality outcomes within stringent timelines.

Pay & Benefits

  • The pay range for this position is $38—$55/hr
  • You will accumulate sick leave at a rate determined by your zip code
  • Additional benefits provided if you are converted to full-time employment at the end of the 12-month contract period
