Job description

Job Summary

 

Cisive is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to lead the requirements gathering for a new candidate portal for our healthcare clients.  This person will be an experienced and proactive leader who independently manages complex business analysis initiatives, possesses a strong understanding of business processes and methodologies, and demonstrates expertise in requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Leads Requirements Elicitation: Facilitates complex requirements gathering sessions with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Drives Backlog Refinement: Leads backlog grooming sessions, ensuring that user stories are well-defined, prioritized, and ready for development.
  • Root Cause Analysis leadership: Leads root cause analysis efforts for complex issues, identifying systemic problems and recommending solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develops Business Solutions: Works with stakeholders to define and design solutions that address complex business problems.
  • Mentors Junior Analysts: Provides guidance and mentorship to associate and business analysts, sharing best practices and promoting their professional development.
  • Manages Stakeholder Relationships: Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders, managing their expectations and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Facilitates Decision-Making: Supports the Product Manager and team in making informed decisions by providing analysis and recommendations.
  • Process Optimization: Identifies opportunities for process improvement and leads initiatives to implement changes.
  • Data Analysis: Conducts in-depth data analysis to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Leads Testing Efforts: Develops comprehensive test plans, coordinates testing activities, and ensures that testing is conducted effectively to validate that solutions meet business requirements.
  • Facilitates Scrum Ceremonies: Facilitates daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and time-boxed.
  • Removes Impediments: Identifies and removes obstacles that hinder the team's progress.
  • Promotes Continuous Improvement: Facilitates retrospectives and encourages the team to identify and implement improvements to their processes.
  • Jira Expertise: Optimizes the use of Jira for requirements management, workflow design, and reporting.
  • Confluence Expertise: Establishes Confluence best practices for project documentation, collaboration, and knowledge management.
  • Visio/MS Office Expertise: Creates complex process flows, diagrams, models, documents, presentations, and spreadsheets in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio), and provides guidance to others on their effective use.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, with demonstrated success in agile environments
  • Advanced understanding of several products and interdependencies with the ability to recommend cohesive solutions
  • Advanced analytical thinking and complex problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strong experience leading agile ceremonies and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Expert-level proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Visio
  • Highly self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Certification in business analysis or agile practices strongly preferred (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSM, SAFe)
