Job Summary
The ICT Senior Revit Trade Lead is passionate about the BIM process and supports engineers by modeling and documenting ICT systems. These systems include structured cabling, telecom spaces, audio visual, and security infrastructure that enable data, voice, and video connectivity in mission critical environments like hyperscale data centers. The ideal candidate will have experience in low voltage projects including multi-trade system modeling for ICT, A/V, and security. The scope of work will involve both small and large-scale technology infrastructure projects. This person will be responsible for creating and updating models, modeling and annotating ICT-related systems, and general graphics and data management for their designated models.
The ICT Senior Revit Trade Lead will work as part of the engineering team and interact closely with the project management team.
The ICT Senior Revit Trade Lead will receive general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. May work independently or under immediate supervision. May serve as trade lead on routine projects of limited scope.
The ICT Senior Revit Trade Lead will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.
Essential Functions
Production of Revit Documents (30%)
- Utilize Revit software to assist on project work – modeling and detailing to prepare drawings and visual aids
- Collect data and other information for construction documents
- Prepare project design and construction documents
- Complete Construction Documents for ICT, from beginning to end in Revit
Guide and Direct Production of ICT Engineering Documents (30%)
- Independently perform intermediate to advanced engineering work
- Perform intermediate to advanced ICT design tasks under a senior engineer’s supervision
- Perform intermediate to advanced computations and analysis for ICT systems
- Utilize Revit software to prepare drawings and visual aids
- Review and write layout sequences or system descriptions for ICT infrastructure
Revit Graphics & Data Management (20%)
- Diagnose and fix Revit visibility issues for the project team
- Manage project and family graphics
- Create new Tag Families and know how to work with labels within Tags and Title block
- Diagnose trouble categories within linked models and how to change their appearance
- Research, understand and incorporate graphic standards from clients when required for a given project
- Generate compelling views beyond plan views, such as Sections and 3D
- Understand the differences between ICT Equipment Part Types and its effect on Panel Schedules
- Create schedules, diagrams, Note Blocks and Keynote Legends
- Add new parameters to the project or families and know the difference between Built-In, Shared, Family and Project Parameters
- Understand the difference between Instance and Type Parameters and when to use each
- Add connectors to families and map parameters to push data to the project
- Create special views and schedules within Revit, which issue alerts based on parameter values
Trade Health Management (20%)
- Setup required views in Revit when needed
- Create schedules and design views to aid in ICT Design in Revit
- Provide quality control tools for completeness and adherence to company standards of production
- Monitor work products produced by staff to ensure Revit standards are maintained within project models
- Maintain and update ICT Revit families in response to project need
- Resolve ICT BIM design issues using a combination of Navisworks and Revit and other platforms such as ACC
Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget
Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned
