Position Summary

The Leave of Absence Specialist supports leave cases for all MHS employees. This includes consultation with employee and managers on leave of absence policies and processes (i.e.: disability, FMLA, WFLA, Military, unpaid medical, and Intermittent). The Leave of Absence Specialist acts as a liaison with leave management vendor and works closely to ensure that all paperwork is received and that all benefit changes are done in a timely manner. Additionally, works closely with managers to understand their accountability and guides on timecard coding to reflect appropriate coding for leaves. This role t provides Tier 2 support for assigned escalated leave issues and inquiries for Benefits Administration. Ensures employees receive the highest quality of service by recognizing individual needs, and by putting them first in the transactions. Provides research, analysis and resolutions on existing leave issues and provides analysis and recommendations on closed issues for continuous improvement. Evaluates service level support for compliance. Work situations are varied and require an exceptional service-oriented individual, who has solid organization skills, high attention to detail, problem analysis skills, and prepares data and results to effectively support recommendations. Relates well to all kinds of people and has effective conflict management skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (Business Administration or Health Administration preferred)
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in benefits, absence management, or FMLA Systems orientation

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $76,710.00 - $110,365.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
