POSITION OVERVIEW: As an essential component of Asurion’s Global Security and Risk organization, the Asurion Security Operations Center (ASOC) has the responsibility of proactively detecting any situations, manmade or natural, having the possibility to impact any Asurion employee or asset around the world. ASOC analysts collect and disseminate information to global security leadership and appropriate business entities during the reactive phase of any issue affecting Asurion operations. The ASOC is a fast-paced, information-driven environment requiring analysts to be highly motivated, quality conscious and able to perform these tasks with little or no supervision.
ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS/DUTIES:
• Reporting and notification of critical and non-critical events from initial discovery through resolution.
• Direct tasks during the initial phase of crisis response in accordance with established Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity protocols.
• Oversee physical access control at multiple global sites through the Lenel operating system to monitor and verify authorized and any attempts of unauthorized entry to Asurion property including those areas deemed critical and requiring special access authority.
• Identification and acknowledgement of various Lenel system generated alarms as well as initiation of appropriate response modalities.
• Monitoring various closed circuit television platforms to ensure the integrity of building perimeters, exterior doors, and sensitive areas such as data centers and other business critical functional units.
• Interrogation of various video management systems to provide documentation, and in some cases, evidence of occurrences on Asurion property.
• Troubleshooting technical hardware and software issues, collaborating with access control or video field technicians, programmers, and physical security managers to resolve alarm, CCTV, and access control issues.
• Monitoring of cargo shipments to mitigate the risk of theft and other cargo security threats from initial movement to destination; to include the notification of appropriate personnel and/or authorities of any deviation of specified routes.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service by ensuring all forms of written and verbal communication is courteous and professional.
• Ability to guide and assist internal customers during emergency and non-emergency situations wherever in the world they may occur.
• Proactively identify circumstances that could affect Asurion business travelers; collect and disseminate information to enhance situational awareness.
• Processing daily reports to document all ASOC activity.
• Collect, analyze, and disseminate metrics to facilitate management decision planning.
• Facilitate emergency notifications to sites globally via Asurion’s mass notification platform to enhance the security and safety of employees.
• Provide guidance to onsite uniformed security staff and initiate an immediate security response among international sites.

• Prior work experience with security systems, including access control systems, alarm monitoring, closed circuit television systems, telecommunications systems, and video surveillance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required Education and Experience
• Graduate of Police/Corrections Academy
• Criminal Justice/Security Degree, Associate or higher
• A minimum one (1) year of security related experience within the last 3 years.
Preferred Education and Experience
• Law enforcement experience
• Service in the Military Forces, Military Police, or combat arms
