The Retail Analytics team works face-to-face with the largest retail players, using NIQ solutions to help answer questions such as, what is the right assortment to carry and how to optimize pricing & promotional strategies. Every day brings a new challenge when working in this fast-paced retail environment supporting merchandise analytics solutions & services.   

Remote based role based in the US. Candidates must be physically located within the US. 

Job Description

As a Client Director, you will lead a team that identifies and crafts business-issue solutions by working collaboratively with Commercial Retail teams across the assigned portfolio of clients. Deliver value to clients through NIQ’s world class merchandising analytics product solutions. Typical client engagements require you and your team members to lead meetings to help scope creative solutions to business issues, manage the completion of projects, and deliver analytics-insights through storytelling.  You and your team will bridge the "language gap" between clients, sales, client service, and technical aspects of our operation.   

Responsibilities:   

  • Leading a high-performing team who is responsible for delivering our solutions, and creating integrated analyses in support of client's strategic initiatives.  
  • Present analyses to senior-level client contacts with actionable insights and recommendations for the client's business.   
  • Proactively provide subject matter expertise on our products and the merchandising analytics domain to clients in support of strategic client business issues including Pricing, Promotion, Assortment and other merchandising analytics domains.   
  • Lead a bespoke Data Science team to deliver innovative analyses and solutions to unique client problems. 
  • Maintain and build productive business relationships with key client contacts.   
  • Work collaboratively with other NIQ Retail Analytics teams, including the Sales, Implementation, & Operations teams, to further develop existing tools and identify revenue opportunities outside of contracted services.  
  • Manage renewal processes, upsell & cross-selling for your portfolio of clients in a “farming” capacity; inclusive but not limited to P&L management, agreement drafting, negotiations, & selling.   

Qualifications
  • 8+ years’ experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG), CPG Retail, and/or market research industry required.  
  • 2+ years’ experience in directly managing, mentoring, and leading associates.  
  • Strong analytic aptitude with the ability to apply analytic products to CPG/CPG Retail industry business issues.   
  • Successfully manage end-to projects, from approach/design to delivery of insights.   
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to deliver impactful client presentations.   
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and senior leadership (VP level and above), both internally and externally.  
  • Skilled at influencing and collaborating with cross-functional teams.  
  • Strong sense of urgency and accountability to drive client outcomes while managing multiple priorities.   
  • BA/BS required, Master’s preferred. Math, Statistics, Economics, Finance or Computer Science background preferred. 
  • Expert proficiency in base price optimization, promotional planning, promotional effectiveness, markdown optimization, assortment & space optimization, supply-chain, demand forecasting, geospatial analytics, A/B testing, planogram analytics, personalization and customer loyalty analytics preferred.  
  • Experience in database analytics and direct experience using SQL, Databricks, Python strongly preferred 
  • Intermediate proficiency in financial & contract management preferred.

Additional Information

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation of $110,000 - $148,000. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a sales-based incentive or performance-based bonus.
