Job description

Summary:

MediaNews Group is seeking a Circulation Billing Specialist to join our team! This position is responsible for Billing processes for assigned Properties (Newspapers) owned by MediaNews Group. This includes, but is not limited to home delivery, single copy, alternative delivery, carrier payments, carrier adjustments, PIA/PBM billing, statement submission to 3rd party, Month End, and revenue journal entries.

*This is a remote role but you must reside in Ohio or Colorado.

What you will do:

For assigned Properties (Newspapers), generate circulation billing files, ensuring accuracy of data prior to submission
Generate all home delivery and single copy invoices
Ensure carrier payment files are submitted to AP for timely payment
Ensure accuracy of circulation invoices, adjustments and coding
Process subscriber refunds
Verify use of adjustment codes on Circulation bills
Key contact for local circulation departments for billing issues
Assist with unapplied payments
Process adjustments and returns in billing system
Analyze and resolve problems with moderate supervision; expected to take initiative to refine procedures, use tact and diplomacy in servicing the client and communicating with others and demonstrate ethical behavior

What you will bring:

Accounting process and controls knowledge
Demonstrated ability to create Excel spreadsheets using formulas as needed
Strong initiative, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and team collaboration skills
Customer-focused
The preferred education required to be considered for this position is an Associate’s degree in business and/or a combination of college education and experience to enable successful performance
Demonstrated knowledge of automated billing systems (Mactive and/or PBS system preferred)
Three (3) years of business experience
Proficient at 10 key

Benefits and Compensation:

The hourly range is $21.50 - $23.50.
