What we’re looking for:
We are seeking a strategic and analytical leader to serve as our SVP of Underwriting. This role is critical to the success of our team and is responsible for overseeing all underwriting functions and ensuring that risk is managed effectively while maintaining operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring deep mortgage industry expertise, a data-driven mindset, and a passion for building high-performing teams and scalable processes.
This is a remote opportunity to work from home.
What You’ll Do: 
  • Lead the underwriting organization across all mortgage products (Conventional, FHA, VA, Jumbo, etc.).
  • Develop and enforce underwriting policies and procedures that align with investor, agency, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Use data and analytics to monitor risk, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement in underwriting quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure seamless loan processing and decision-making.
  • Oversee underwriting performance metrics including turn times, quality control, and productivity.
  • Drive adoption of technology and automation to streamline underwriting workflows.
  • Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on credit risk strategy and operational planning.
What You’ll Need:
  • 10+ years of mortgage underwriting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong analytical background with proven ability to interpret data and apply insights to operational strategy.
  • Deep knowledge of mortgage underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing large, underwriting teams in a high-volume environment.
  • Proficiency with underwriting systems and workflow automation tools.
  • DE/SAR/LAPP certifications preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation. ** 
  
Compensation: 
 The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $230,000 depending on experience. This role also includes an opportunity to earn a performance-based bonus.
